Van Pool Introduction Package
Welcome to the Van Pool Program!
We are excited to have you join the Van Pool. This service is designed to provide safe, reliable, and cost-efficient transportation for your team members. By participating, you help reduce traffic congestion, save money, and support a greener environment.
This package outlines everything you need to know to get started, including program purpose, participant responsibilities, rules, and contact information.
1. Purpose of the Van Pool
The Van Pool program provides shared transportation for employees commuting to and from work. The goals are:
- Promote safe and reliable travel.
- Reduce individual commuting costs.
- Encourage teamwork and cooperation.
- Support environmental sustainability by lowering emissions.
2. Participant Responsibilities
All participants agree to the following:
- Be on time at your designated pick-up location.
- Work together as a group to determine schedules and route needs.
- Notify the Van Pool Coordinator of cancellations or schedule changes.
- Abide by all van pool rules regarding safety, conduct, and cleanliness.
- Use integrity and good manners with fellow participants.
3. Van Pool Rules
Timeliness
- Be at the designated pick-up location on time. The van will not wait more than 3 minutes.
- Notify the Van Pool Coordinator if you are not riding (preferably 24 hours in advance).
Communication
- A group chat will be created for van pool participants to share updates.
- Any special pick-up or drop-off requests must be emailed to the Van Pool Coordinator.
Safety
- Seatbelts are required at all times.
- No standing, moving around, or distracting the driver.
- Keep aisles clear of bags and personal items.
Conduct
- Show respect, integrity, and good manners.
- Keep conversations at a reasonable volume.
- No profanity, arguing, or disruptive behavior.
Cleanliness
- No eating full meals in the van; snacks and drinks with lids are acceptable.
- Remove all trash and personal belongings after each ride.
Zero Tolerance
- No smoking, vaping, alcohol, or drugs inside the van.
- No harassment, unsafe, or unlawful behavior.
- Violations may result in removal from the van pool.
4. Special Requests
- Any special pick-up or drop-off must be emailed directly to the Van Pool Coordinator in advance.
- Last-minute requests may not always be accommodated.
Tack Transit offers a Van Pool Service designed to provide safe, reliable, and convenient transportation for commuters. A 12-passenger van will be assigned to transport riders to their designated destination.
Each van pool must consist of at least 5 participants, including 2 designated drivers.
On the route to the destination, up to three (3) stop locations may be included for passenger pick-up or drop-off.
Payments are due monthly, and the total cost depends on the total mileage for the route.
